Need Hit Beats is a E-Commerce website used to sell instrumentals to Artists, TV Shows, and creatives to use in their podcast or video content. 

The Problem

Millions of music producers were already leveraging the internet to sell their beats. Causing an oversaturation of music, making it hard to find my instrumentals when people search on Google.

The Goal

My goal was to study the top-ranking music producers, understand what they are doing well, identify gaps they were missing and leverage that to boost the visibility of “Need Hit Beats” online.

The Journey

Becoming #1 on Google search engines took years of trial and error with a mix of various digital marketing strategies.

Some marketing strategies worked well and some didn’t. I discovered that the best digital marketing strategies included campaigns that encapsulate the usage of all of your social media pages.

  • Emphasize a heavy focus on two platforms that your target users use most
  • Leveraging these platforms consistently and updating your website blogs will lead to the best results.

How I leveraged UX Research and Search Engine Optimization to maximize traffic to the website

  • Completed a competitive analysis of my competitors. Found out what they were doing really well, found out what they are missing and how we could fill those gaps.
  • Performed keyword research on the most used terms for “music producers”
  • Added sentences and paragraphs that included targeted keywords throughout the website 
  • Optimized the website to offer a better user experience on desktop and mobile devices
  • Provided a faster way for people to listen to my instrumentals
  • Made the flow easier for people to purchase instrumentals
  • Implemented keywords, and H1, H2, and H3 tags
  • Managed an active online marketing presence

Achieving the #1 spot for my website using digital marketing strategies was a remarkable accomplishment that brought me tremendous success. Witnessing the growth of my online presence and fan base was exciting, and I successfully established a passive income stream through my well-executed techniques. 

However, as my business expanded, I became intrigued by the prospect of building technology products, which led me to shift my focus away from my brand. This diversion proved to be both a learning experience and a challenge. Although my knowledge and expertise in technology improved, I neglected to prioritize my e-commerce website, resulting in a slowdown in website traffic and sales. This setback taught me an invaluable lesson about the importance of consistent marketing efforts to engage customers.

Recognizing the need for change and improvement, I have since dedicated myself to learning newer digital marketing techniques. Armed with this knowledge, I am eager to embark on building a new brand with a renewed focus on implementing effective marketing tactics to reach and engage customers on a consistent basis.
